Versailles from Paris — the Palace and Trianons with your private chauffeur
The Hall of Mirrors, the gardens, the Trianons and the Queen's Hamlet — forty-five minutes from your hotel, without the RER and without the coach crowds. I collect you in Paris, drop you at the entrance that suits your ticket, and the car waits as long as you need. Half-day for the Palace alone; a full day to see the estate as it deserves.
A day in Versailles, the way I usually plan it
A typical outline — adjusted with you and with your ticket. The estate is vast: the car lets you move between the Palace, the Trianons and the Hamlet without the little train or the long walks.
A short drive west along the Seine. We arrive before the Palace opens, so you are among the first in the State Apartments.
The King's and Queen's Apartments, the Hall of Mirrors, the Royal Chapel. With timed tickets, allow about two hours. The car waits by the Place d'Armes.
The Orangerie, the Latona and Apollo fountains, the Grand Canal. On fountain-show days the music and water displays are worth planning around.
A table reserved in the town of Versailles, or at one of the restaurants on the estate — I advise according to the day.
I drive you to the Trianon entrance: the Grand Trianon, the Petit Trianon and Marie-Antoinette's Hamlet, far quieter than the Palace in the afternoon.
Back at your hotel before the evening — or on to the airport, if Versailles is your last day in France.

Versailles — your questions
How long does it take to get from Paris to Versailles by car?
About 45 minutes from central Paris, traffic permitting. Leaving your hotel around 8:15 puts you at the Palace for opening, ahead of the day-trip coaches.
Is Versailles open every day?
The Palace is closed on Mondays. The Trianon estate opens in the afternoon only. Opening hours change between high and low season, and fountain shows take place on weekends from spring to autumn; I confirm everything for your date when I write the proposal.
Do I need to book tickets in advance?
Yes — timed-entry tickets are strongly recommended, and essential from April to October. The Passport covers the Palace, the Trianons and the gardens. I can arrange the tickets for you through our concierge service, or advise you on how to book.
Half-day or full day?
A half-day is enough for the Palace and a walk in the gardens — about four hours including the drive. The Trianons and the Hamlet, which many guests prefer to the Palace itself, call for a full day.
Can we combine Versailles with another visit?
Yes. Versailles pairs well with Giverny for a full day of gardens, or with a stop at the Château de Breteuil or the Vallée de Chevreuse. Versailles also works beautifully as the last visit before a flight from Orly or CDG.
How much does a private day trip to Versailles cost?
There is no price grid: every proposal is written for your date, your group size and your programme. You receive a written, all-inclusive quote within 2 hours — vehicle, chauffeur, fuel, tolls and waiting time included. Tickets and lunch are added on request.
Shall I plan your day at Versailles?
Tell me your date, your group and whether you already have tickets. I will come back with a written proposal within 2 hours.
